It began with a flood.

What do you mean?

My journey.

On this path to work in the environmental space.

2013

Salzburg, Austria

We had moved from London so I could take a role managing photography at Red Bull. It had been raining for a week.

Unusual weather we were told.

The morning after we moved in to our house the river burst its banks and our house was consumed by water.

We were consumed by despair. We had lost our home and many belongings.

It took us 3 months of moving between temporary housing to finally settle into a new home.

In the time I lived in Austria I learnt to appreciate the way they lived. More season to season. Over time I found I was becoming more environmentally conscious.

It was around this time that plastics started to become a thing for me.

The overwhelm of how much we used. I committed to trying to use less. We made eco bricks from bottles and single use plastics.

And then came the gut punch.

2022

Paradise Beach, Mykonos

I dived into the turquoise to be met by a fog of plastic.

Micro. Nano. Fibres. Bags

I was blown away.

I felt I MUST do something.

Let’s not forget the Sealion …

… and the Fishing line

2024

La Loberia, Galapagos

While shooting the sealions performing gracefully in front of us we noticed that one of them had a fish hook in its mouth.

It evoked feelings of sadness within me.

On a dive a few days later we rescued another sealion towing metres and metres of fishing line.

Sadness again, but mixed with happiness that we had removed the line.

Work that I would like to do more of.

It’s these moments that drive me forward.

Over time I have had the privilege, and pleasure, to work on some incredible stories, whether concepting, directing, producing, shooting or editing.

My work has not always been focussed on nature, but has seen me work progressively over the years in the outdoor space.

My persistent desire to work in the environment has come following my time in Austria and an increasing passion to bring about change.

The Earthshot Prize

Following some work for Silverback Films on a Google project called The Climate Games I was commissioned by The Royal Foundation as Director/Producer to create a film style trailer about The Earthshot Prize.

Only when the contracts were signed was I informed that its end goal was to be played on stage at COP26, in front of all the world leaders, and before Prince William came on the stage to present his creation.

Once storyboarded I worked with an editor, the BBC, and Silverback to create this short film.

The Ecologists

Whilst spun as a product line film for Craghoppers this is a beautiful document of the English countryside and people who work in it to protect it. My role was Art Director.

Echoes of Life: Stories of the Galapagos

Producer, director, videographer. Managing production of 3 stories focussed around the life and locals of the Galapagos Islands for Craghoppers and Galapagos Conservation Trust.

Undoubtedly the most important work of my career

Voices of the Pacific

Concepted, produced and edited a film representing the Pacific Islanders in their policy document for INC5’s Global Plastic Treaty.

The Algae Project

My fascination with the underwater world perpetuates with an ongoing project at Vobster Quay. An inland lake and disused quarry where I lifeguard and swim.

Algae blooms grow to astounding lengths throughout the summer months.

Working with my good friend to give them perspective we swim and shoot to document this blissful underwater world.

My path is now to take this further.

I am looking to work for an ocean conservatory or NGO where I can use my skills to communicate the state of the planet and inspire action.

Storytelling, content, marketing, communications, and strategy, through to hands on involvement to bring about change.

I am all in.
