Climate Communication Framework
Climate communication has a narrative problem
- John Marshall, Potential Energy Coalition -
The world of climate communication is changing. Attention is scant, yesterday’s strategies no longer apply, and we need to shift from a focus on awareness and info-dumping, to inspiring people to take action.
The good news is, 89% of people around the world are concerned about the climate crisis and want to see more action. Our job as communicators now is to help them want to act, and feel empowered to do it.
The question is, how?
It is to this end that Ali Wines and I decided to create a framework for climate communication adapted to the times we live in. This framework is based on the latest and best available research on strategies that actually work to shift hearts, minds and behaviours. Grounded in neuroscience, change management and marketing best practices, and full of tips, ticks and practical examples, the framework is designed to help you tell climate stories that inspire commitment and action.
We hope you find it a valuable resource.
HAPPY COMMUNICATING
